We do not have a sales staff, and you deal directly with the business owners and the artist doing your work (often times the same people). As our client, you deserve to work with the people incredibly knowledgeable about the 3d process and working directly on your project. We do not outsource work to foreign countries, and believe in investing back into local businesses for our software, products and services. We work hard to give our customers great value, but also understand the value of our work.

Who are we? 4D Artists, Inc. has been in business since 1992, bringing beautiful 3D Computer Graphics and Animation to clients across the United States. We are a privately-held woman-owned corporation, under the leadership of Jennifer O'Connor. Jennifer's background is in Computer Science and Engineering, and has been a CAD user for over 20 years. In addition to leading 4D Artists, Jennifer is adjunct professor at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL, teaching 3ds Max and Architectural Illustration for over 12 years. Jennifer is an acknowledged expert in several rendering technologies, including Academy Award winning mental ray and the ART VPS hardware rendering accelerators. 
Where are we? 4D Artists, Inc. is conveniently located between Chicago and Milwaukee, in beautiful Lake County Illinois. What services can we provide? We can provide you with 3D Computer Graphics and Animation for Print, Video and other Digital formats. For animation we can produce DVD, Blu-Ray, CD-ROM, VHS, SVHS, Hi8, BetaCam, and downloadable digital formats. We can work produce your sales, promotional or instructional video from start to finish, and can arrange for the production of your media. We can provide individual and group Training for 3ds Max and mental ray. 4DA has a Render Farm with an ever expanding resource of fast 64-bit computers and advanced hardware accelerators. We can take your time-consuming rendering jobs and complete them in less time for you, without tying up your own valuable resources! Our renderfarm now features the Advanced Rendering Technology Hardware Rendering Accelerators, including the PURE card and RayBox. This greatly improves both the quality and speed of our rendering farm, allowing us to do spectacular "virtual photography" rendering of complex ray-traced surfaces utilizing physically-based lighting. Most examples on this site were rendered with the accelerator, and we have three available. Our Experience We have been users of AutoCAD since Version 2, and users of 3D Studio (DOS) since Release 2 in 1992. We keep current with all releases of the software we use, for use both in a production environment and the classroom. We have many years of experience training in 3ds max, AutoCAD and Autodesk VIZ.
